Do You Have A Boobs Problem?

On the third day after i gave birth. I was sick and did not manage to latch my baby R and the next day, he just decided that he doesn't like to latch. I kept on trying and he just latch lesser and lesser everyday. Around week 2, I've decided to exclusively pumping for him instead. Tough decision. But I'm willing to take up the challenge for my baby R.

EP is like the hardest things I've ever done. All the middle of the night pumps and washing of bottles are taking a toll on me. And the worst thing is, no pump is compatible with babies's mouth. And I've developed a big hard lumps on my left breast one morning. It was painful. Can't sleep with the pain so i desperately need a masseur to help me with the lump.

On my previous post, I've shared about my post natal massage with Madam Zee. She was fully booked so she can't help me that day. By chance, I've met someone else and I was thinking I really need to introduce to my fellow mummies my Breast SIFU. She is specialised in breast massage and she can turn your hard boobs into soft tofu with her magic hand!

Madam Ida is really the master of breasts! She came over my place that afternoon and discovered that I have blockage everywhere. My nipples, under my areola, on my side boobs and on my under boobs. She took 1.5 hours to clear for me. It was like raining milk and some is in yellowish colour which she explained to me it was those milk that stuck inside for a very long time. My hard breasts felt like tofu again! Finally my tank is empty. It feels so good again. And the best part is her massage is ZERO PAIN! i repeat, ZERO PAIN. My lumps was painful to touch and until now i still couldn't understand how could she massage away without feeling pain. (my pain tolerance is quite high)

It's great to see a good letdown like the picture above but how many mummies here really have this kinda flow when pumping or breastfeeding? My milk was creamy so I'm prone to lumps. Plus all along I've thought that HIGH SUCTION = BETTER YIELD. NONONO! It's WRONG! I've recently adjusted my pump mode from expression mode level 8 to level 4. Surprisingly, my yield is more when I'm using level 4. And when i pump, i did not pay attention to my underboobs and always pressing on it causing blockage at the underboobs. Thanks to my BREAST SIFU i know what I'm doing wrong all this while.

There are many mummies out there think that they are low supply mum, but you might have blockage that you doesn't even know. Blockage at the nipple is hard to detect. I urge all the mummies out there that are thinking of giving up breastfeeding due to low supply to call my breast SIFU, Madam Ida because I'm sure she could help you. And for those that has lumps but doesn't bother to do anything about it because it is not painful, you might regretting it when you had mastitis.

Madam Ida's charges are absolutely reasonable!

$60 for 45 mins
$120 for 90 mins (serious blockage)

Her contact is 94249829

I'm very happy that i could pump 1 litre a day again. After i developed the lumps, my yield dropped immediately from 140ml-150ml to 80ml per pump. I pump 7 times a day almost every 3-3.5hours. To all EP mummies, you guys are awesome! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! Give a tap on your own shoulder. Looking at my cute lil monster, I know all the hard work is worth it! Look how much he gained. 7 weeks from 2.935kg to 5.265kg. And from 49cm to 57.5cm.

One of the benefit of EP :

SLIM DOWN FASTER
(Due to all the sleep deprived nights)

2 months PP today and feeling great about my boobies and my yield. Thanks to my BREAST SIFU, MADAM IDA.

My Post Natal Massage with Z's Spa Traditional Massage

If you've been following my post or know me in person, you should have know that I'm no shame to group myself in the "slim" category. I'm 167cm and weighing around 45-47kg. After i hit 40 weeks, i don't bother to step on the weighing scale anymore because I've exceeded 60kg. At 42 weeks just before i step inside the labour ward, i was 61kg! Total weight gained of 14kg. When i hit 24 weeks, my tummy started showing a little and that's when i started to pack away all my favourite crop tops. My sister told me to donate all to her because she said i will never get to wear them again! In my heart, I was telling myself i will wear them again. Another part of me wasn't really confident that my body will return back to my old shape again.

BEFORE

AFTER

Immediately went to do my research and ask around for post natal massage package looking at my 2 big piles of crop tops (no way I'm giving away all those tops!!) After comparing so many packages,i finally chose Mdm Zee from Z's Spa Traditional Massage because :

1. She was rated 5/5 on her FB page! LOL. FB don't lie. All the reviews about her are exceptionally good and detailed. Doesn't look like solicited compliments.

2. She provide portable massage bed and unlike other masseurs will require us to prepare a mattress for them. So inconvenient lor!

3. Complimentary cloth binder so we could continue binding after the massage sessions end. (as if i got so hardworking) >.<

4. She was very polite and detailed when explaining about her packages.

5. Her package was reasonable.

5 days $ 450
7 days $ 595
10 days $ 800

So I booked the 7 days sessions with her. She kept track of her customers well! She texted me to check on me whether have i delivered when i was overdue. 1 week after i deliver, i started my massage session! So excited about it! My first impression on Mdm Zee was she is very friendly and motherly. We had lots of things to talk about but she also know when to stop and let me enjoy my massage sessions (very important!) Throughout the whole massage sessions for 7 days, she was always on time and she was so meticulous in making sure everything is alright and addressed to my problems that she always went overtime. The massage sessions was supposed to be 1 hour and 10 mins but it always ended up 1 and a half hour or more. I love her complimentary breast massage too. Not too painful and always able to unclog my ducts so after every massage sessions, my milk flowing smoothly. Not to forget the one complimentary baby massage session which my Raien enjoyed it so much.

In her post natal massage, she used hot stone treatment and also Pilis cream based products which contains natural ingredients such as ganthi, galaga, turmeric, peppermint and ylang to help to relieve dizziness and improve circulations. Love the smell of it! The binding which required to bind around 7-10 hours everyday was perfectly fit to the body because she has different sizes of it.

Most importantly, my uterus didn't shrink and my lochia discharge was very little after one week postpartum. When she used the acupressure point on my tummy, I can feel my lochia is coming out and the feeling was great. (Opps, too much descriptions) After 3 sessions, my uterus managed to shrink back to normal size which is extremely fast. I felt great after each sessions of massage with Mdm Zee.

Mdm Zee and me (Pardon my "confinement" face)

At 14 days postpartum after all the sessions, my weight was 52kg! Already shredded 9kg and only 5 more kg to go! UNBELIEVABLE!

On 12 days PP

And on 17 days PP, I wore my crop top out

This is not a sponsored post! I paid $595 for the massage sessions. I'm blogging about it because i really think that GOOD THING MUST SHARE with all the mummies. Here is her FB page!

The Arrival of Baby Boss R

Sorry it's been sometimes I've got a chance to blog. Its gonna be a LONG LONG LONG post. Me and my husband visited "Dr Tan" due to close proximity from the day i found out I'm pregnant. Initially "Dr Tan" was very friendly and I was quite comfortable with him so we decided to choose him as my delivery gynae. However, after we signed on package from week 20 onwards, he started to show his true colour, every time we visit him, he takes things for granted. On week 34, i was told my baby weighing at 2.5kg, and on week 36, he told me my baby was already 2.8kg. He also told me if i need to deliver a baby at 3.5kg it will be quite hard for me as i plan to do all natural birth without epidural. Every time when i talk to him about my birth plan, he seems not interested and told me it will all change due to certain circumstances that appear during labour. I truly understand but he doesn't seems to respect my birth plan. After listening to what he said, i decided to cut down on my carbo and control my dietary so that i don't have to deliver a big baby. Also my baby also was at transverse lie position since week 28, so he suggestion induction to "push" the baby into the birth canal if he hasn't turn down at week 39. On week 37, we visited him again, and the things that triggered us to change a gynae is when he told me my baby was small weighing at 2.5kg only. WTH! that's not what you said last week. Also he mentioned that my water level was low at 3cm? So he said he wanted to see me again next week to discuss about induction. I went to Mr Google and he told me water level 3cm is extremely dangerous and required c sec immediately. Every time me and my husband walk out from his clinic, we will be puzzled wondering whether what he said is it true. So i decided to look for second opinion.

I was grateful to get to know about Dr Paul Tseng from TLC which is very pro natural and he also know ECV which is a manual procedure to turn the baby either from breech or tranverse lie to head down to enable vaginal delivery. Booked an appointment and praying that he will accept late booking. I was blown away when he asked if i would like to scan the baby which i can choose not to and he will be able to tell me my baby position and approximate weight of my baby. According to his magical touch, my baby was head down and measuring approximately 2.8kg. And true enough, after scanning, I found out that my boy decided to turn his head down at week 38+5, water level was 11cm and he's measuring 2.7kg. Everything seems fine. PHEW… What a relieve!

Weeks passed and Baby R seems to be comfortable inside my womb. Dr Paul prefer to wait out because every baby is different. They choose their own birthday. However, my husband was on leave to standby since I was week 39 and his leave was exhausted so we discussed about induction on week 42. Overdue was dreadful and tiring. Tried red raspberry tea, evening primrose oil, walking (everyday 4-5km at least), yoga, birthing ball, pineapple, curry, squats etc but it just doesn't work.

On the big day, I was inserted Cervidil (tampon alike) in the morning at 1130 in TLC clinic after being checked by Dr Paul that I'm 1cm dilated and cervix were soft. Afterward, I went for lunch with my husband. At around 1330, i started to feel my VJJ is in so much pain but no contractions yet. Reached home at 1430 and decided to take a nap. Around 1600, i got up and showered and ate something and headed to hopsital because of regular mild contraction. Upon arrival in labour ward at 1730, I was checked for cervix dilation, 1cm still.

Still can smile at the camera. LOL

Half an hour later at 1800, the cervidil make my contraction so much stronger hitting 90 at interval of 1 minute! In my heart, I was like, OMG. THIS IS IT! HE'S COMING! Breathing through it with laughing gas for 4 hours and finally nurse came in to check my dilation. I was praying. Please! at least a 5cm cuz the 1 minute interval pain is killing me. AT 2200, the nurse declare that I was still at 1cm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was totally devastated! Nurse removed the cervidil as advice by Dr Paul because the contraction was too intense and I'm not dilated. Midwife suggested me to take epidural because I was too tensed up with the contractions, thus my cervix was not dilated. After discussion with my hubby, I gave in to epidural at 2245. I thought Epidural will be my life saviour but no. My dilation is still so damn slow! At 0030 they checked me again and I was at 1.5cm =_=

Managed to catch some sleep and got up the next day morning at 0640, I was dilated to 4cm. FINALLY some progression. But, I was stucked at 4cm until afternoon 1245 and my contraction were far apart and not intense. Dr Paul advised for OXYTOCIN for induction again at 1345. But i don't care, I was numb like hell. Give me everything to get my stubborn baby boy out!

Seems like the oxytocin works better on me. At 1400, I was dilated to 5cm! Half way there now! Dr Paul came at 1545 to check on me and good news! My water bag was broke at unknown timing and I was at 7cm now!! But bad new is baby is in POSTERIOR position! Not the most optimal position for labour and often lead to c sec and more complications such as slow labour (NO WONDER!) and hard to push.

Posterior position is on the right

To feel the urge for pushing, I requested nurse to lower the dosage of epidural. At 1645, I felt the urge to push, midwife and I practiced pushing for one hour. She said every time when i take a deep breath before pushing, baby go back up again because of posterior position. She suggested for assisted delivery. I felt like gonna passed out soon because of the long pushing and agreed to it. GET ME DR PAUL NOW! (in my heart yelling..) At 1745, Dr Paul arrived and advised me to use vacuum at low suction just to turn the baby and leave it to me to push my boss out. FINALLY! 2 pushes after he turned the baby, HE'S OUT AT 1800! No episiotomy, I've only got first degree tear around 3 stitches.

Baby Raien

His vernix is literally gone and his skin were slightly crumpled and dried up because he was overdue. And he's got a cone head due to vacuum suction. (scared my hubby a lot) Other than that, he was perfectly fine and healthy :)

Imma Cone Head Man >.<

Birth plan was out from the window. From all natural to giving in everything from epidural, oxytocin, laughing gas, vacuum, Undeniably, It was a tough 24hours but it was worth it to have my sleepy head Baby R to be in my arm. Mummy love you so much. (To be honest, sometimes i miss the time when he's in my stomach for 42 weeks)

WHO DO I LOOK LIKE MORE? DADDY OR MUMMY?

ONE THING FOR SURE! IMMA SLEEPING CHAMPION LIKE DADDY.

Wyeth Digital Commercial

I was very very lucky to have so many angel friends around me. Even someone whom i just did one flight together, she has me in her mind. When her friend told her that they are looking for pregnant woman for a shooting job, she immediately recommended me to her friend. Thank you JOSLYN HUA HUA <3

Understand that it will be a couple shooting i immediately asked my hubby if he willing to join me for casting first. It was a funny experience since it's our first time casting so we totally have no idea how will casting be like. Upon arriving at the agency, we were asked to fill up our details such as waist size etc (i don't have waist anymore so i wrote NIL. haha!!) Then we were asked to take pictures from 360 degree angles. After that, we were asked to act out the scenes in the commercial and they filmed it down to let their clients to view. I was literally like "what?! acting now? I'm not ready.."  But it took us not long before we acted more naturally since I'm with my hubby. A few hilarious moment during the scene when he noticed I've put on weight and my hubby was giving me this face like he got a shock of his life seeing how fat i am. Then the agent was telling us that it a happy thing that I've gained weight so he supposed to convey his words in a happy tone and not a shock tone. LOL. But trust me, even I won't be happy seeing I've gained so much ! Total 12 KG now!

We love the commercial concept so much. Its so true that it took a lot of courage for a woman in her pregnancy journey. Courage to put on weight, courage to forgo my beautiful high heels shoes, courage to rely on others, courage to carry a huge weight on yourself, tiring but all worth it. Take me as an example, I'm a workaholic and I've self sufficient financially since I'm 17. I worked part time during school breaks and never in my life that I've rested for more than a month. While my friends were organizing holiday trip after one semester ended, I would be started working the next day after last day of class. So after I had to leave my flying job when I'm pregnant, it was dreadful for me knowing that my income had gone. I tried to apply for job while I'm pregnant but nobody would hired a pregnant lady. :_( So I've been jobless for 7 months now. Longest break in my life. Almost got into depression. Early days i would just cried for no reason. Probably thinking that I'm broke now. LOL. So ladies out there, talk to somebody if you're depressed. If you cannot talk to your family members, there is a hotline for Mum To Be. It offer confidential support to pregnant women in difficult situation. 1800-686-86-23

So I was asked to wear this dress for my shooting. But i think this dress makes me look fat. Forget about it! I AM FAT! You must have heard I said I'm fat so many times. I'm sorry but I really think I am.  I'm not gonna lie the fact that my self consciousness is very high. But I'm confident that I can go back to my old body. Die die also must slim back!

WHEN I STILL HAVE WAIST

38 weeks tomorrow! I'm ready for you Baby Raien. But seems like you're not, your head is still lying on my tummy sideway.
